Varsity Head Coach
Dan Haertl has extensive head coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. Dan has been the head coach of the Maple Girls Tennis Team since 2008. In addition to serving as the Head Coach of the Maple Grove Girls Tennis Team, since 2009, Dan has also served as head coach of the Centennial High School boys’ team . Dan was the head coach for the girls St. Francis High School program from 1990-1995. He served as the head women's tennis coach at Hamline University from 1986-1998, adding the head coach of the Hamline men’s team in 1999, thus coaching both Hamline’s men and women’s tennis teams until 2006. Dan is a Five-time MIAC Coach of the Year and Girls HS Tennis Coach of the Year in 2021. He teaches Beginning Tennis at the University of Minnesota. Dan has served as a Nike Tennis Camp Instructor and Director. He has been a teaching professional for Lifetime Fitness, Public Indoor Tennis, Baseline Tennis Center and Tenicity. Outside of tennis, Dan is the lead for Sticks and Tones, featuring music for kids and families.
C Team Coach
Cole has been coaching tennis at the youth level for 9 years. Cole began as a volunteer coach for his hometown’s USTA youth tennis program, and over the last two years has coached the Maple Grove Boy’s Tennis C squad and 7/8 squad. Cole started playing tennis as a freshman in high school and played for four years at the collegiate level at Concordia University-Wisconsin. Outside of tennis, Cole enjoys golfing and cycling.
